Marco? Marco? Marco? Just in case there is anyone still out there to shout “Polo” back – I may take up posting again. This blogging hiatus was quite unintentional to be honest. It was just that work got even more insanely busy than it had previously been, my social life in Hamburg finally became a bit more intense, and then I started job hunting… and as you’ve probably experienced first hand, that can turn into a second full-time job of its own. I was still booking, biking, and fooding, but I just didn’t have the energy to write about it on top of everything else. Throughout this post are some pictures of a few things I did get up to when I wasn’t working or job hunting.
But now life has taken another turn: if I can ever manage to get all my boxes packed, I’m moving next Thursday and starting a new job. Hopefully, hopefully, this will leave me with a bit more time on my hands to revive this little corner of the Internet. Wish me luck!
My new job is quite a change from the old one – I’m expanding from working with the EU, Latin America and the Caribbean to working with the entire world! I’m going to be responsible for International Research Relations at a very traditional university in Southern Germany. Whilst this is quite exciting in and of itself, it also means that I’ll be much closer to Mr BooksBikesFood (can we call him Mr BBF?), which is even better. We’re still big believers in the crazy idea that one day, we’ll actually both find jobs in the same city, so we’ll keep working on that. But reducing our distance from an over five-hour to an hour-and-a-half train ride is already a big step in the right direction.
I hope to be back with a first recipe for you tomorrow, but now please excuse me while I try to cram my belongings into what seems like a very insufficient quantity of removal boxes.

Oh you should! Tübingen is a lovely little place. It’s kind of like the Oxbridge of Germany. You can even go punting 😉

Well that’s definitely a way to sell it to me!

Haha, yeah the pumpkin pasta doesn’t seem to be for everyone ;). I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the pictures, I always feel like I need to spice it up a bit more and stop taking so many photos of food!
