This blog originally started out as Liburuak, a blog dedicated to books. But as my life was changing, I wanted to blog about other things I care about – cooking, biking, and other, well, stuff. So Liburuak became Books, Bikes, and Food (BBF).

I’m a working woman and love my job, so occasionally this blog may have to take a back seat. Aside from books, bikes, and food, I enjoy swimming, kayaking, yoga, International Relations & Political Science geekery, and spending time with friends and of course, Mr BBF. Lately, I’ve become very interested in feminism, so this has been influencing my thinking, reading, and life in general.

 

The Blog

Books

This is where you’ll find bookish posts, mainly reviews. I love literary fiction and this is mostly what I read, sprinkled with a bit of non-fiction and a range of other reading material. I love to read in the original language, so I focus on Spanish, English, and German-language literature. Lately, I’ve also been trying to branch out into new areas.

Bikes

Even though I live on top of a very steep hill, I try to bike as much as I can. So when I post about biking here, it’s going to be mostly about biking for transport. I believe in biking in a suit, heels, and helmet (most of the time). This is my ride:

I call her “BB”, which stands for “Black Banana”, for… reasons.

Food

I enjoy cooking. I live in a long-distance relationship, which means I mostly cook for myself. I also often try to cook for several days at once (the working woman routine). I try to eat well and varied. Actually, my cooking habits have changed quite a bit as a result of food blogging and food blog reading: rather than relying on a bunch of staple recipes, I try to branch out and experiment with new things.
